Meißen - Not Just Ridiculously Expensive Porcelain

Meißen (or Meissen) can be a bit of a journey to get to from Berlin - allow for about three hours+ by train - but it is well worth the trouble. We visited it on a hot and sunny early-September day and spent an enjoyable afternoon exploring its mediaeval charms. Funnily enough, we didn't go to the porcelain factory, for which it is most famous around the world, but then again we didn't have a thousand euros burning our pockets to spent in the gift-shop.

Here are some images of the town that I captured (without boring comment from me for a change!)
