Verdi's Requiem at the Berliner Dom

Last night we went to a concert of Verdi's Requiem at the Berliner Dom (cathedral) preformed by the Rostocker Philharmoniker and sung by the Ernst-Senff-Chor Berlin.

The setting of the magnificent Baroque interior of the Dom matched perfectly the sublime music of Verdi, and the excellent performance by the orchestra and choir.

We were seated up on the Süd Empore and didn't have a clear view of the performers. If we go to another concert here - and we surely will! - then it might be worth paying that bit extra for a central view. But nevertheless, there was visual sensation in floods to be had letting our eyes wander over all the neo-classical sculptures, reliefs and paintings of the dome, whilst our ears took in the beautiful sounds coming from down there, around the corner.

On mobile phone so apologies for quality!
