A Great Tit amongst the Catkins

Here is a photo I took last week of a great tit (Parus major) amongst the Spring catkins. Confusingly, my German-English dictionary tells me the German name for this bird is eine Kohlmeise, which translates as 'coal tit'. But surely coal tits are a totally different species of tit, Periparus ater ? My dictionary says the German name for a coal tit is eine Tannenmeise (fir-tree tit)

Ah well, he's a beautiful looking bird even if he does have an identity crisis.
