Timmendorf, Insel Poel

On the west coast of Insel Poel we found a small seaside resort with a narrow beach, harbour, a lighthouse, and lots of holiday apartments and a campsite.

The beach was rather crowded, and besides, we hadn't brought our bucket and spade, so we had a stroll around the harbour and a light meal at an Italian restaurant near the sea-front. All very pleasent and relaxing, and I couldn't help contemplating that if this were a British seaside resort there would be shops selling cartons of fish and chips, sickly candyfloss, amusement arcades, and  at least one pub packed with drunks. #justsaying.
